I am a higher education professional, thought partner, and connector interested in making higher education institutions more effective and students more successful. I have a particular interest in the fields of experiential learning, community and civic engagement, and high impact practices. I earned my Ed.D. and M.S. in higher ed leadership from the University of Rochester and a B.A. in anthropology and sociology from Elmira College.

When I left the ivory tower of education and finished my dissertation, I felt a void and struggled with my identity as an “alternative academic – altac.” My hope is that this blog will be an a place to discuss my work in higher education and my travel adventures. In addition to working full time, I work part-time at Kate Spade, which I absolutely love. I spend my free time practicing yoga, cycling, and volunteering with Team RWB, a non profit that enriches the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. I’m also proud to serve on the board of the Gap Year Association, a nonprofit accreditation and standards-setting organization for gap year programs.
